El Rio Mexican Restaurant in Kernville

Good food. Easy take out. Great ice cream. Right acrid gum Riverside park.

It's a small place , and i was kind of iffy about it. But it was very good. I want to go back and try there ice cream. A person was leaving from there with said they have the best. It looked really good.

Good, small, local Mexican restaurant For me, whenever a Mexican restaurant has wine based margaritas, it's a one point deduction...everything else is good, though.

Food is top notch some of the best in Kernville CA.

Amazing little gem. Ate here after a day at the river. Had there chicken fajita special for 15 bucks. So much good two of us couldn't finish it.

We stopped by this little place because my grandson wanted a shake.. I got some onion rings that were pretty good,there were only maybe 5 onion rings, a few of them abit burnt, otherwise they were good..My grandson got a patty melt and honestly he didn't like it and we just tossed it in the trash..

This spot never fails to deliver. They have good dishes for reasonable pricing, there is no waiting time even when they are full.

Nice place.just wish they would not use lard in there beans and other foods. Heart friendly oils would be so much better! The waitress was friendly and food was served in a timely matter. Overall nice, casual dining.

Definitely one of the best Mexican food restaurants in Kern County, I would put it in the top 3. We eat here quite often supper cold beer & excellent food!

Very good authentic Mexican food here. Had the chile verde burrito, and the steak Ranchero. Both were very very good service was very good ambiance is average. A good stop if you like authentic well-prepared prepared Mexican food.

Freaking awesome burritos and quesadillas! Had to wait for our Campground site to open so we kicked back in the park and went fishing. Had a terrific lunch at this place! Enjoy it in the park great times! Love Kernville

I love this place, been coming here for years.! Good food, service sucks sometimes but just depends on waitress I guess. Great food, and atmosphere though.

Love to stop in for shaved ice and ice cream with the kiddos while at the park. We have also ordered dinner multiple times and am very pleased with them overall. Great location. Small place inside but the park is directly across the street if you want a more open area. They also have tables and chairs along the side outdoor ordering window. You can fine in or out.

Excellent spot to buy some food when in a hurry. The customer service is fast, pricing is convenient, awesome atmosphere. Will come back again

First visit the food was ok . Second visit service was terrible I ordered a drink while waiting for my to go order and after asking 2 waitresses for my drink it never came. I Was ignored the whole time . I had to go and check if my food was ready on my own. Won't be back

We stopped in last night. Sat down like we always do. Waited 9 minutes and got up to find waitress talking bull with another girl in the back. Sorry. We just want some food.

We've been here a few times and the food is always great.

It was evening, and cool out. They had all the fans on in the place, and it was freezing! We had to eat on the "patio". Still inside, but another room where there were no fans on. We only ordered two bowls of soup which were very good. It took us over half an hour to get them. I think the soup was in the refrig or freezer, and they had to warm it. Service was good, it wasn't her fault about how long the Soup took. Menu seemed a little pricey for Mexican food $10 to $15 a plate. $10 for a bowl of soup about two cups. I'd go back again.

The food is so good. Fair size portions for the price. Out door dining due to covid-19 August 2020. Directly across the river if you need a soda, ice cream or float.

I moved earlier this year from San Diego- where there's killer Mexican food EVERYWHERE u go. I Iived here 6 months before I learned Rios existed. I was so excited to realise there was a place to satisfy my delicious Mexican food cravings. I was also nervous it just wouldn't be as good as I'm used to. I WAS IMPRESSED- the flavor is spectacular! A little pricy but well worth it considering the area. As a bonus, its also a killer ice cream stop my kids and I frequent regularly. Their ice cream is delicious and not expensive at all- a satisfying family break anytime!

This is a favorite of ours. Staff is always nice and remembers us. Great food, always fresh. You can't go wrong with El Rio

The place doesn't look too impressive, and the wait for the food was a little long but the food was excellent. The shredded beef tacos that I had we're cooked to perfection, and my friends lover their choices as well. This is a great little spot to have your lunch or dinner in Kern. Best Mexican food around by far. Thank you El Rio.
